In the spirit of giving and sharing joy during the festive season of Christmas, ELC organised another heartwarming Christmas gifting and donating event in December 2023, bringing the Hin Hua community together to contribute to Klang Ekliptik Children’s Centre, a non-government organisation that provides home and care to more than 65 children with developmental disabilities. The event was aimed to spread the spirit of love and togetherness among teachers, students and staff as well as to appreciate different cultures and festivals.
Just like November 2022, a beautifully decorated Christmas tree adorned with colourful wish lists was set up at the reading corner of ELC in late November 2023. Each tag represented a specific item requested by individuals in need, ranging from toiletries to food. People who were interested in heeding the requests would select a tag from the tree, purchase the corresponding item, and then donate it to Klang Ekliptik Children’s Centre.
Throughout the charity drive , we witnessed an outpouring of generosity from the Hin Hua community. More than 400 units of necessities donated by 40 individuals, 30 classes, two school departments, and two families were placed under the Christmas tree, giving a warm ambiance that resonated with the true essence of the season. This reflected the diversity of wishes and our community’s commitment to making Christmas special for the less fortunate.
We are glad that this second Christmas gifting event of ELC was a resounding success, embodying the true spirit of the season and a meaningful celebration of generosity, love, and compassion. We would like to thank all participants for meeting the needs of the Klang Ekliptik Children’s Centre this year. The donated items will undoubtedly bring joy and comfort to the residents. As we close the chapter on this heartwarming event, we look forward to continuing our mission of making a positive impact in the lives of others in the years ahead.

Despite the hurdles intricately woven into the lives of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), they emerge as formidable symbols of resilience, serving as true role models for all of us. By participating in this event, we have the opportunity to contribute to their strength and collectively strive for a more inclusive society.
