Cambridge Award Presentation Ceremony

       History was created at Hin Hua High School when the first batch of students successfully completed their Cambridge English Language Assessment and was awarded certificates and trophies from the Cambridge University for their respective achievements. The ceremony was held on Monday, March 21, 2016 at the Puan Sri Kai Yong Yeoh Auditorium, Science & Technology Tower. 

      Puan Sri Datin Sri Kai Yong Yeoh, Patron of the English Language Centre and school director graced the event as the Guest of Honour. Also in attendance were Datuk Lee Peng Hock, Vice-Chairman of the board, Madam Ng Swee Geok, the Principal, Mr.  Nick Lim Wen Jie, Senior Marketing Manager SEA,  Cambridge English Language Assessment,  Ms Jenny Yeoh of CELA, Ms. Kanjna Paranthaman, Regional Manager of Education ASEAN, Cambridge University Press , Ms Paun Chern Nee of CUP, Mr. Eddie Teoh, Centre Exam Manager, Ms Theresa James and Mr Cheong from GPEX.

      The event kicked off with a brief report by the Head of the English Language Centre, Mdm Boo on the student's’ performance in the Cambridge English Examination. In her opening remarks Madam Boo stated the ISO implementation and the practice of PDCA has been a major contributor to the success of attaining international standards for the learning of English Language at Hin Hua High School. She further emphasised that various aspects on the syllabus were reviewed and revised to integrate Cambridge English components in the existing scheme. Constant improvement plan and effective strategies implemented by the ELC have given learners the confidence to gear up for international recognition. At the close of her remarks, Mdm Boo expressed her deep appreciation to the Patron of the ELC, the Board of Governors, the Principal , the Cambridge Associates, her team of teachers and students for their continuous support and dedication in establishing an international recognition for the students of Hin Hua High School.

     The event progressed with a speech by Ms. Kanjna Paranthaman, where she expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Hin Hua High School for creating a platform of colla-boration in order to establish greater heights in the learning of English Language. She, however gave much credit to the students who were receiving their achievement certificates on that day. She motivated them by giving them a standing ovation and congratulated them for taking a bold step in making a difference in improving their English proficiency level in order to face the real world and assured them that they were going to be the most sought after graduates! 

     Soon after the presentation ceremony, a big round of applause was given to all the achievers and the event continued with a congratulatory message from Mr Eddie Teoh, the Centre Exam Manager of GPEX Central. He inspired students to continue moving up the ladder to achieve grea- ter heights in their language proficiency as being second language learners, it requires courage and determination to master the English Language. At the same time, he also assured to be of help to the school and teachers in the preparatory stages towards preparing students for the Cambridge Examinations in future.


       Finally the most awaited award, the Outstanding Candidate Award was given away by  Puan Sri Datin Sri Kai Yong Yeoh, accompanied by Datuk Lee Peng Hock, and Principal Mdm Ng Swee Geok, to Ms Annabelle Kang Huei Min from J3 Ottawa.
To wrap up the event a group photograph was taken with everyone present to witness the prestigious ceremony.  It was certainly a day to remember for students and teachers of Hin Hua High School and all Cambridge Associates who had contributed to the success of the event. 

       This brought to the announcement of top achievers from each level. The names and levels are as follows:
