Owing to the positive response received from the participants last year, the English Language Centre decided to organize another session of Theatre Playground on 29th and 30th March during the March school holidays this year.
Again, led by Ms. Anne James, a well-known dancer, actress and teacher, who has been very active in the Malaysian theatre for the past 20 years, the workshop enabled participants to explore and develop basic skills in voice, movement and performance. Through the use of improvisational techniques, participants got to delve into areas such as storytelling and physicalisation of characters. The two-day workshop also helped build communication skills, teamwork and creativity. The workshop was conducted in English and the total immersion in the language helped participants gain confidence in speaking and interacting in English.
Similarly, the Theatre Playground of this year proved to be a success for our participants had given Ms. Anne James and her activities encouraging comments.

It was a fun and unforgettable experience for I had learned a lot of new things and had understood the importance of teamwork. I managed to overcome my fear and act with my members in front of others. I would like to take part in a similar event in the future.
