改革创新,惠泽学生

        过去我曾两度于校内举办的“教享悦”发表研究报告,有别以往的是,本次是我首次在全国众多乐于投入教育研究工作者面前,发表论文、也是第一次以英语作为媒介语发表,这让我感到既兴奋又战战兢兢。成功完成论文发表,首先要感谢许梅韵副校长和莫壮燕副校长的鼓励,还有张喜崇老师的协助,促使我鼓起勇气在此盛会分享我的硕士论文。

      我发表的论文题目为“Students’Perception Towards Blended Learning Using Google Applications : A Case of Chinese Independent Secondary School” ,主要是探讨中学教育如何看待使用 Google 应用程序作为“混合式学习”的平台。自从我校科技大楼于2013年落成后,部分老师陆续按Google应用程序所带来的方便设计不一样的学习任务,让学生学习效能事半功倍。趁此机会,我把学生的想法做出整理及量化,与所有有志于教育改革与创新的与会者分享,期待老师们未来在推展科技教育上,能够施展更大的突破点、勇于尝试,并在往后的教育旅程上,把自己的经验跟其他人分享。

        这两天,听了全国各校老师的教学研究及教案分享,我收获满满。除了在教育研究的主题有了新的想法外,教学法上也萌起想要尝试新的创意教学,期许自己在教育路上可以惠泽更多的学生。

A Note of Appreciation

      The Research Paper presentation by CISS paves the path for teachers to not only showcase and present their studies on educational research carried out in their respective classrooms, but it also enables one to enhance their professional development as an educator. Besides, doing research also gives the opportunity to the teacher-researcher to know different teaching- learning strategies and methodologies that can be applied in our teaching. Furthermore, by carrying out research, we can be in one way or the other be on par with the latest changes in the field of education.

      As for me, the whole process of executing the research right from reflecting on the lesson, the planning stage, the read up on the studies done by previous researchers, collecting and analyzing the data, and arriving at the conclusion and coming out with recommendations on further improvement on the research done was like going through an “educational journey” which was a rewarding one.

     I would like to thank CISS for encouraging the effort put in by the teachers by setting up the platform for us to present and share our knowledge with other educators. I would also like to thank the school for their continuous support in motivating the teachers in enhancing our professional development by encouraging us to carry out researches. A big thank you to my co-presenter, Ms Sastina Sebastian for her constant support, motivation and time spent in making this research and presentation a success. Last but not the least, I would also like to take this opportunity to thank my wonderful colleagues in ELC for their continuous support and encouragement.
